Shattered Echoes
Some nights don’t pass…
they just repeat, a little quieter each time.
Not everything that breaks fades away…
some of it stays, and slowly becomes who you are.

I wake alone, the night is cold
Memories replay, the story told
Every laugh now feels so far
I wear the cracks like a scar
I tried to hide, I tried to mend
But fear and doubt will never end
The mirror shows a stranger’s face
I’m drifting in a hollow space
Anxiety, it claws inside
A storm I cannot run or hide
The life I knew is torn apart
A constant echo in my heart
I scream but no one seems to hear
The trembling hands, the rising fear
I’m someone I don’t recognize
Lost in another’s weary eyes
My soul feels broken, can’t control
The pieces scattered, swallow whole
If I could rewind, start again
Would I still feel this endless pain?
And maybe in another time
Another life, another mind
We’d find a way to hold it close
Before the love we had turns ghost
The fear it burns, it takes my breath
I chase the light, but find only death
